Let us be Entertained

Image result for elfI consider myself to be someone who is highly appreciative of the entertainment industry, be it films, series, commercials, music or novels I'm drawn to the feeling and emotions they evoke and the techniques used to evoke them.  As winter is slowly creeping in, with each day getting shorter and colder, people tend to feel more inclined to spend their days cuddled up in front of the TV watching their favorite movie or TV shows. 

Right now, most people are preparing themselves for the festive season, and the entertainment industry plays a huge part in the excitement surrounding this time of year.  TV screens are filled with commercials, artists release new holiday albums, shows contain a holiday feature and everyone's favorite holiday classics are brought back to life.  In fact Hallmark Channel released their annual "Countdown to Christmas holiday movie event" which began on October 27th and will end on January 1st 2019 airing a total of 22 original Christmas films to, according to executive producer Michelle Vicary "make viewers feel better".  

As the melodious voice of Michael Buble's popular Christmas hits become more prevalent, I can safely say 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas'.

All about Disney

In the last few years, we were presented with re-makes of some of the best films of all time, Disney classics.  So far, 'Beauty and The Best, The Jungle Book and Maleficent have been re-made into live-action takes on the Disney movies, all taking us back to our childhood stories in a new way.  Less than a month ago we were graced with the first trailer of the re-make of perhaps one of the most loved Disney films, The Lion King, 25 years after its first release.  To no surprise, this trailer reached up to 10 million views in less than 24 hours.   The remake is under the direction of Jon Favreau who also was behind the creation of the live-action Jungle Book.  The similarity of the trailer to the original already, as well as the announcement of an all star cast, already has millions of fans going crazy, t he BBC shared a range of reactions to the this first trailer  showing the varieties of responses.  Some people shared their fear of having to witness Mufasa's death for a s
